One platform Any asset Detect degradation everywhere
Signals Lab extends 8 kHz degradation detection beyond UPS rectifiers to CRAC units, cooling systems, transformers, and motor loads. The same waveform analysis that caught degradation across 800+ rectifiers, applied to your entire facility.

Signals Lab is a multi-asset degradation detection framework. It extends the same 8 kHz waveform analysis already protecting 800+ UPS rectifiers at T-Mobile to CRAC units, transformers, and motor loads, enabling operators to detect electrical degradation across every critical asset type from a single platform.
The problem: every asset has a monitoring gap
Your data center runs dozens of critical electrical asset types. Degradation detection works for UPS rectifiers today, but the same physics applies everywhere. Components degrade, harmonics shift, and standard BMS polling at 1 Hz misses it all.
CRAC units develop compressor wear. Transformer windings degrade under thermal stress. Motor loads drift out of alignment. Each failure mode produces distinct electrical signatures that fall between standard monitoring samples.
How detection generalizes across asset types
Every electrical load produces a waveform signature. When components degrade, that signature changes in measurable ways. The specific patterns differ by asset type, but the physics is the same.
UPS rectifiers. Shipped. Capacitor degradation elevates 5th and 7th order harmonic THD. Verdigris flags rectifiers where THD deviates from the fleet baseline, up to 21 days before functional failure.
CRAC/CRAH compressors. On the roadmap. Compressor wear changes the inrush current profile and steady-state harmonic content. Early field tests show measurable signature divergence weeks before maintenance alerts.
Transformers. On the roadmap. Winding insulation degradation under thermal stress produces characteristic partial discharge patterns visible in high-frequency waveform data.
Each asset type requires a tuned detection model, but the underlying capture infrastructure is shared: 8 kHz waveform data from any monitored circuit, analyzed against per-asset baselines.
Works alongside your existing monitoring stack
Signals Lab does not replace your BMS, DCIM, or power quality meters. It finds what they structurally missed.
Standard monitoring tools poll at 1 Hz or slower. They report steady-state power quality metrics (voltage, current, power factor) accurately. But electrical degradation produces transient harmonic signatures measured in milliseconds. At 1 Hz polling, these signatures fall between samples.
Signals integrates into your existing workflow. Alerts route to ServiceNow for automated work order generation, to Prometheus/Grafana for infrastructure dashboards, or to Slack for immediate team notification. Install alongside what you have. No new dashboards to learn.
T-Mobile: 4% of 800+ rectifiers degrading below alarm thresholds, $1.3M to $3M protected
Signals Lab builds on the detection engine already running on mission-critical infrastructure at T-Mobile:
- 800+ UPS rectifiers monitored across data center facilities
- 4% showed active electrical degradation where zero standard alarms had fired
- Up to 21 days advance warning before equipment failure
The financial case at deployment scale:
| Value driver | 3-year impact |
|---|---|
| Equipment life extension (96% healthy fleet, 15-20% longer replacement cycles) | $900K-$1.5M |
| Maintenance optimization (inspect 32 degrading units vs 800+ fleet-wide) | $120K-$225K |
| Overall ROI | 6:1 with 5-month payback |
We were surprised to see issues our existing systems didn't catch. It built immediate trust.
Vote on the detection roadmap
We proved the physics works. 8 kHz waveform analysis caught degradation that zero BMS alarms flagged. Now the question is which assets to apply it to next.
